An amazing winter’s morning of nourishing awesomeness by the fire!

What a wonderful morning yesterday was! As ever, I am still buzzing from the high of Nourishing at Home once again with another awesome group of people! I’ve been left with such an amazing, positive vibe and wonderful energy following this time spent with you all, and I am so very grateful to be able to share these experiences with you! 

Southampton Personal Trainer Gen Preece Boot Camp

This particular nutritional workshop was designed to balance wellness and happiness throughout the Autumn and Winter months, which can often be a challenging time for so many of us. Learning how to optimise health and well-being throughout Autumn and Winter and natural ways to boost the immune system were also top of the agenda.

As well as exploring the power of nurturing delicious foods; in warming, beautifying and immune-boosting dishes that nourish the body and soul. And of course, sampling them them all  😉 

Did we succeed? Here’s what a few of the lovely attendees had to say:

“My favourite parts of today were the jackfruit (amazed how tasty this is) and the raw chocolate bar – normally I would eat a whole bar of chocolate, but this I would eat as a treat! I learned today how cooking healthily doesn’t have to take loads of time and how tasty healthy is. Going forward, my portion sizes will be smaller as I will take the time to eat slowly and also wait until I’m hungry. Amazing, thank you so much! x – Hayley

“Today I tried new things I may not have otherwise made and have learned so many new recipes! My eating habits will now be far easier to keep on track and I can’t wait for more of the same”Kelly

“I learned today the right food combinations for complimenting a healthy lifestyle – and how good jackfruit is as a meat replacement! I plan to prepare a couple of days worth of meals to save time and use more of the recipes. I can’t pick a favourite part of today as I just love all of it!” – Phil

“I loved meeting like-minded people and all of the food-tasting today. I learned how quick healthy food can be to make, how lovely it can taste, many alternative ingredients to use and how small amounts of the right food can fill you up!” – Angela

“Gen’s knowledge of all the different foods and their benefits (particularly turmeric) was amazing. Especially loved the cauliflower soup and the raw chocolate bar! “I’m now looking forward to having more colourful foods at my table and have learned some new healthy foods for every day. I loved the salad and the raw cake! I plan to make at least one new recipe per week. I can’t believe how quickly these couple of hours went – amazing!” Asta

“Today we leaned some useful healthy hacks, like mindful eating (which will be practiced going forward) and how to organise and plan meals. It was great to learn other tricks like pre-soaking chia seeds and also about the Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen. Favourite things today were the happy tummy tea, cauliflower soup, raw chocolate bar and of course the jackfruit – delish!”  – Matt & Ana

“I have now learned how easy it is to make nutritious wholesome food, to eat slowly and enjoy every mouthful. My Favourite parts of today were tasting all the food, especially ingredients that I have never heard of or tried before. “My favourite parts of today were seeing the dishes made freshly, with info about the ingredients as we were going along. I plan to make a bit more effort with eating healthily and to try and incorporate these ingredients. I look forward to more of the same!” Liz

Thank YOU all so very much, just reading these lovely kind words again brings a tear to my eye! I cannot express how much the lovely feedback, kindness and positivity you awesome lot have given (and continue to give) means to me. I remain infinitely grateful for being able to do what I do every day as a personal trainer, and for getting this opportunity to share everything I have learned myself, with such a wonderful group of Southampton beauties.

It wouldn’t be right to not give an extra special thank you to my wonderful husband, best friend, glamorous assistant and highly skilled fire builder Damien Preece, whom I love with every cell of my being and whom without none of this would have been possible! (Particularly the log-fire as I’m crap at building those…) Thanks also for helping clean and tidy everything up so very beautifully, you truly are the love of my life and I’m glad I married you as otherwise, I certainly could never afford you ☺️
