Keep your healthy New Year’s Resolutions, why we created Boot Camp and more!

It was great to be invited back to BBC Radio Solent once again, to talk to the lovely Katie Martin! And what a wonderful way to start my first week back personal training and boot camping with the wonderful inspiring people that I am so lucky to have in my life 🙂

Whilst we are in the thick of what my personal training team and I refer to as the ‘January Newbie Rush’, (where fitness dvd sales, detox schemes and gym memberships are at an all time high) it was great to discuss exactly why so many people have given up on their New Year’s Resolutions by March!

As you many well know, we created our Boot Camp at The Ageas Bowl to STOP people becoming just another New Year ‘cliche.’ We do this by focusing on the long term results one day at a time – not quick fixes, fads or gimmicks!

And we pride ourselves on what makes us different: namely the support our Bootcampers receive, the guidance and motivation they can expect week after week and the fun, happy and positive environment that can be found at each class!

Katie and I agreed the most important thought to bear in mind this New Year and always, is no matter how much you exercise, you cannot out-train a poor diet. This is the reason we also take care of the nutrition side of things at Boot Camp, by emailing our Bootcampers a menu plan each week. And as you can see, they are all doing pretty great!

If you do end up eating something that’s not that great for you, it does not mean all is lost! Just remember the reason why you decided to change your lifestyle in ther first place, and then pick up where you left off. We are aiming for progress – not perfection! And that goes for all of us 🙂
