Top tips from Personal Training and Boot camp clients, who have transformed their lives

Deciding to get healthy is one thing. But what about actually doing it? What to follow? Who to listen to? How do I even start?!

The overwhelming minefield of information available to us is, ironically, often the very thing that stops so many people getting started in the first place! It certainly stopped me when I was at my unhealthiest.

So here’s some tips from Personal training and Boot camp clients whom are now living healthier happier lives. And whom all once felt as lost and overwhelmed as I did.

One day at a time…

Instead of viewing losing weight/dress sizes as a huge mountain to climb, ask yourself what could you do to make yourself healthier TODAY (not forevermore.) Your new healthier habits will then become your way of life.

“My daily lifestyle is a very busy one so I was always too ‘busy’ to think about food or exercise. I saw a picture of myself at a family ‘do’ and couldn’t quite believe how out of shape I was. Changing my diet means I now don’t feel bloated and sluggish and including exercise like Boot camp into my life makes me feel fantastic!” – Caroline

Consistency

Think about what little changes you could make – and stick to. Remember the cumulative effect of all your choices will dictate the quality of your lifestyle. Could you walk somewhere instead of drive? Could you improve something you eat/drink daily? Could you get up from your desk more each day?

“Understanding nutrition and exercise, and the impact these have on my body have been really eye opening. I now think about what I eat and when – and try to be more organised and forward-thinking.  But I also don’t obsess over sugar-laden food, that I was probably addicted to before. “ – Kelly

You can’t fail if you never give up…

Once you’ve decided to start, you’ve nothing to lose (except perhaps unwanted inches…) and an abundance of knowledge, skills and experience to gain. Remember: progress, not perfection.

“Changes won’t happen overnight and they certainly won’t happen if you don’t do anything but just keep with it. It’s not a race. Keep consistent and it will all come together.

“I can’t begin to tell you how scared I was, I was so ashamed of how unhealthy I’d become. I knew that if I didn’t make changes, I would never have any photos for me to look back on with my children and they wouldn’t remember me ever being around, because I avoided being in photos with them!

I now feel happy and so glad I made the change to get healthy and start my 50’s fitter than most people in their 20’s!” – Debbie
